Discipline and Perseverance Beats Talent...Pondering The Way Forward

Discipline beats talent...words I heard spoken on a training call last week.  The speaker was explaining that discipline, steadfast adherence to your plan will win over raw talent.  This got me to thinking...especially over this past weekend while I was doing another two day cleanse.

How many of us, myself included tend to fail, not because we do not have the talent to succeed, but because we find ourselves lacking the discipline to persevere when the going gets tough...especially when it comes to dieting, losing weight?  It was not like I woke up one day and said, "I want to be fat".  It was a process, and being honest with myself, a process that involved "lack of discipline" on my part...despite my ever expanding gut, despite the lack of energy and the lethargic reality of my life, I did what it was that I wanted to do, ate and drank what I wanted do, exhibiting zero SELF CONTROL...another way of saying I was exhibiting no self discipline.

My own journey of self reclamation is teaching me self self discipline...but what if there is more to the word, and the concept of discipline?  Why was I succeeding in my dieting this time, when I had failed so many times before...the clue's to my answer could be found in looking up the word online.

Discipline as defined is systematic instruction intended to train a person in a craft, trade or other activity, or to follow a particular code of conduct or "order".
But then I read further...
Often, the phrase "to discipline" carries a negative connotation. This is because enforcement of order–that is, ensuring instructions are carried out is often regulated through punishment.

I was ALWAYS TAUGHT and TOLD, that successful dieting requires self control and discipline...what if subconsciously we fail at our diets because of our interpretation of that phrase, ""Successful dieting requires self control and discipline"?  Could it be, that we see dieting AS PUNISHMENT for years of no self control? Could it be we resent dieting because it is seen as a PUNISHMENT, and could it be that I am actually succeeding this time around because I have seen my Isagenix program, the products the company has created not as dieting, but instead as a means to getting healthy?  Like the old adage says, change the mental picture, change the results.

If you are lost, just stay with me another couple of minutes...

None of us are perfect, and we all put on weight for various personal reasons...poor food choices (some times voluntary, sometimes not), eating as a means to find comfort, and though we maybe do not want to admit it, eating to hide ourselves or make ourselves less attractive...think abuse.  I myself looking back think I indulged myself for a few reasons...

1.  I've known starvation...not hunger, but starvation.  When I was a child, times were more than rough, and there were some periods of time when a few potatoes shared among seven of us, or some oatmeal was all there was for supper at night even though we had not eaten all day.

2.  As a child, food was used as a weapon by my father...getting a beating was bad enough, but imagine getting a beating and then being sent to bed without supper.

3.  Food was/is a emotional comfort for me...I used to hoard treats such as cookies, carefully hiding my secret stash, and then late at night under my blankets allowing myself to break off one little piece, savoring it like manna from heaven.

Looking back on all of this I can understand some things.  Firstly, sitting here today I can see why I have avoided anything to do with discipline...to me, subconsciously discipline meant not just punishment, but a beating.  Sitting here now, though he has been dead for some years can hear my fathers voice as he screamed across the table, "Get your ass down stairs son, I'm going to show you some discipline you will not soon forget."  The word was a trigger...still is.

Looking back over these past four months, realize I am doing more than just losing weight.  I am, though self assessment looking at some very hard truths, and after close examination am doing some very important things as I make changes in my life and attitudes:

1.  I am understanding my past relationship with food, and in some ways redefining that relationship.   Food in my life and my view of it has always existed on the far opposite ends of the spectrum...finally, through some hard work I am finding a nice comfortable middle ground that lets me love it, rather than using it as an emotional crutch.

2.  I find myself redefining, or perhaps using a different word than discipline...I have always seen discipline as meaning punishment, and in turn punishment meant beatings, and therefore discipline meant beatings...is it any wonder then that I have rebelled against discipline of any sort in my life?  Some would say, You need some discipline" or "You need some self discipline" and every cell in my being instantly heard "BEATINGS".

Change the mental picture, change the results.

Sorting Through Old Baggage
What triggers from your past have kept you from being successful in dieting, in losing weight, in getting healthy and happy?  Could something as simple as redefining the journey be all that is needed for you to find that beautiful person who is hiding inside of you?  For me, the word discipline was not working, and on some levels is still not working for me...so rather than run from dieting, I've chosen to re-frame the discussion, chosen to find words that work for me, that allow me to find the success I deserve.  Some examples...

1.  Successful dieting is as simple as believing in yourself (myself).
2.  Self control and dedication will always see you through to your goals.

What emotional triggers are holding you back in accomplishing your goals...in dieting...in life?

Burgers Fit For Oscar!...So Good!

OK...tonight everyone is going to be glued to their sofas to watch the Oscar's...well, maybe not everyone, but a lot of us.  So, thought I would put up a few pictures for the perfect BURGER...maybe I should get in on the excitement and call it "The Oscar Burger"!

Start with some really good chopped meat...here I am using ground Sirloin, about three quarters of a pound worth divided into four thin patties.  Once made, add your own favorite spices.

Place a generous amount of Blue Cheese on two of the patties, and take out three Portobello mushrooms, that you are going to finely chop.

See chopped mushrooms...put a generous amount of the mushrooms on top of the Blue Cheese on each of the two burgers.

Carefully place a thin pattie over the one's with Blue Cheese on them, and work them into two nice thick patties stuff with Blue Cheese and Portobello mushrooms.

Place burgers in skillet on stove top...PRETTY SIMPLE FOLKS.

Add two shots of Vodka and some  worcestershire sauce...call me old fashion, but I think the little bit extra it cost for Lea & Perrins is SO WORTH IT.  Take the left over chopped mushrooms and sprinkle them into skillet.

Cook burgers to your liking...I am a medium rare kind of guy when it comes to my burgers, but others tend toward medium or even medium well.  The mushroom bits browning in the sauce will make a great little relish over the burger...After removing burgers, add a tablespoon of lemon juice to the mix, turn heat up and reduce...spoon over the burger.
While burgers are doing their thing on the stove top make up a nice plate of greens...myself for this one used a nice organic medley of greens, slice tomato and olives...dusted the whole thing with sea salt.

WALLA...A Burger Fit For The Oscar's!

I love sharing with people healthy foods, and a healthy way of life...I am living proof that you can eat great foods, lose weight, and get healthy.  Want to join me in the journey?  Call or text me at (845) 346-6523 or visit my website at www.isahealthychoice.com

Looking Back...Looking Forward...Standing Still...Relections at 57

Thursday February 21st I turned 57...As birthdays go, it was a quiet one, my time spent looking back on the past 56 years, thinking about the future while standing still in the spot that I find myself at. Life they say is a journey, a book not completed until you turn the last page.

October 6th saw me start a new chapter in my own life story...I made the decision to lose some serious weight, get healthy...four plus months later, am moving in the right direction.  My waist line is down to a 34, and have lost over 30 pounds.  Friends tell me I am looking good, that they cannot believe the change, not just physically, but in my attitude.  Looking at myself, the changes so far have been remarkable.  I find myself believing more in myself, and I believe in the product and lifestyle that is Isagenix...question is, what is next?  Not just with my diet, not just with Isagenix, but for me moving forward?

Not sure of the when or where of it, but do know I have to move this year, and that is causing me a great deal of angst.  Tomorrow am driving to New Jersey to look at a modular home (the new code word for a TRAILER....doublewide even).   There are a lot of things to love about the trailer...the access to a clubhouse and large pool that comes with it...what I do not like about it...it's an "Adult Community" as in only those who are 55 and older can live there.  Somehow, moving into such a community is almost a personal admission that I am getting older, and it is this reality that has seen me so reflective this entire week.  I know my perceptions are a prejudice on my part...sure that adult communities have changed from the days when my Grandparents lived in one, when it seemed to a young man that the place was full of bent over little old men in Burmuda shorts, and little old ladies with blue hair playing bridge all day...in short, a part of me feels like moving into an "Adult Community" is a bit like being put out to pasture.

I'm 57...Feel as if I need some great grand adventure of some sort...wrap my car in Isagenix Advertising and drive around the United States visiting County and State Fairs for the entire summer would be a lot of fun...not affordable, but a LOT OF FUN!  Just walking around fairs with my camera for the entire summer taking pictures and handing out free samples of Isagenix with my business card attached.  Of course, if I was going to do this, would prefer to have a beautiful old (restored) vintage pick up truck pulling a vintage 16-22 foot Airstream behind it...could stop at some of the great historical sites along the way...the Grand Canyon, Sequoya National Forest...can see myself drinking a 3+ Energy Shot in front of one of those MASSIVE TREES, camping out along the ocean in California, visiting Hearst Castle again...not been there in over 30 years.

Hmmmm...."My Isagenix Great Adventure"...can almost see a coffee table book of my travels, maybe a blog journaling my adventure day by day as I travel across America.  Oregon would be a MUST VISIT STATE...did you know that there are more Ghost towns in Oregon than anywhere else in  America...always wanted to go photograph them, put out a book, "Ghost Towns of Oregon".

Anyone have about $200,000 I can borrow?  Figure the vintage truck and Airstream fully restored are going to cost me about $100,000.  Already priced wrapping a vehicle...$2,500 which is a bargain! Thinking custom plates for the truck and camper...a minor expense.  Big expense...all those Isagenix samples.   I am guessing on a normal non fair day would need maybe 30-40 samples, but could see myself handing out hundreds of them at a fair...Last time I attended the Ohio State Fair they were drawing crowds over the 18 days of the fair numbering millions.

OK...so maybe I need another idea...

Just know I need to find something...at 57 do not feel READY FOR THE PASTURE.  Thinking that is where a great deal of my own frustration is coming from at the moment.  I need to find something to do with myself other than just watch the world go by.  Life was so full of adventure and spontaneity when I was 20...want a little bit of that back.  Want to get a passport and take off for some exotic place...maybe volunteer on some space/place in the world where I could be a part of something bigger than myself.

OMG...Less Than $10,000!
Is this what getting older is about...suddenly waking up and finding out that the life you have has become staid and boring?  Or instead, am I entering into a late life mid-life crisis?  That could be it...I mean I have NEVER owned a red sports car, let along a red sports car convertible.  Funny thing is, not really a red sports car kind of a guy...so would rather have a restored vintage pick up truck, though have to admit...if I could find one, would LOVE an old say 1956-1963 Bentley.   Something so "Beatles" like in a car like that...have to modernize it to some degree, update the stereo system so that I can use my IPod.  The car is plenty powerful enough to pull an old Air Stream around the country...back to the Airstream and traveling around America...would be pretty cool to drive around America handing out Isagenix samples from the trunk of a vintage Bentley.

Are you over 50 and finding yourself wondering "what's next"?  What is your dream, what is that BIG ADVENTURE that you day dream about at work?

Five Great Tips For Busting Through Dieting/Fitness Plateau

Water Does a Body Good!
For anyone who has gotten serious about getting fit, losing weight, and building some lean muscle, we have all reached one of those Plateau’s…you know the one where no matter what you do, you find your weight stubbornly staying right at whatever it is, no matter how faithful you are to your program. A Plateau is not only frustrating, but often time discourages us, sees many folks beginning to back slide and fall off their program or diet. The next time you are at a plateau, here are FIVE GREAT TIPS to bust through it and climb to the next level as you reach for and attain your goals.

1. Sometimes, we just need to change our caloric intake for a few days, shake it up as they say. You might be eating a bit too much, or perhaps you need to eat a bit more…just for a few days to get out of your routine, keep the body and its systems a bit off balance. Fact is, internally we will adjust to whatever our caloric intake is, so if you are at a plateau change everything up a bit, adjust the ratio of fats/carbs/protein and see if this temporary change in diet jumpstarts the weight loss again.

2. Cleanse your system…I have found when I plateau the best way to bust on through to the other side is to schedule and extra Isagenix 9 Day Cleanse into my monthly routine, and increase my water intake. When you think you have drank all you can take, it is time to reach for another glass…or two!

3. When was the last time you checked your portion sizes? We all seem to be obsessed with weighing ourselves when dieting, but what about weighing our portion sizes. I know for myself that I tend to get away from this part of my routine, and suddenly realize that piece of steak over time has gotten bigger and bigger, the side of noodles WAY MORE THAN I AM ALLOWED. So if you are in a plateau get that food scale out and double check your portion sizes!

4. Do some strength training…I am not a big one for weight training, but lifting weights (even small amounts with more repetitions) helps build more lean muscle, and muscle burns calories! So, head to your local sporting goods store and invest in a couple of dumb bells, or purchase a set of ankle weights for when you go out walking!

5. Change up your workout! Walk faster, or increase your distance and time. Maybe skip the walk, turn on some music and DANCE for half an hour instead. New different workouts are going to work different muscle groups, so don’t be afraid to improvise!

Plateaus can be short in duration…a matter of days or weeks, but they can also be long in duration sometimes lasting months. Do not get discouraged, stay focused on your goals, and CONTINUE WORKING YOUR PROGRAM!...the worst thing you can do is give up and then have to start all over again! Keep tweaking your routines, make little changes until you find the combination to get you past the plateau and moving forward again.

Are You Drinking Enough Water?

As much as I sing the praise of Isagenix, and give it a great deal of the credit for my own weight loss, I could not have done it, seen the success I have seen if I had not greatly increased my own daily water intake.  Did you know that you are mostly water?  When you're born your body is about 78% water by weight. By the time you're an adult this number drops to around 50-61%.

Drinking enough water each day is a key step in wellness & detoxification. You need to drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water a day; more if you get your sweat on! (i.e. someone who weighs 160 pounds needs to drink 80 ounces of purified alkaline water a day)  Do yourselves a favor, and start properly hydrating your body!  Drink water!

If you would like to know more about Isagenix send me a text at (845) 346-6523 and lets chat.  Would you like to try a sample Isalean Shake?  www.isafreesample.com

Tips To Win Holiday Battle of The Bulge

Click For Free Isalean Shake
The average American will gain between eight and ten pounds during this festive time of the year.  That does not have to happen, and you can win your "Battle of The Bulge" this holiday season.  I've lost 20 pounds in the last two months, and do not want to put half of it back on during the Holidays as I attend parties, find myself tempted by all those Christmas goodies that are just to readily available everywhere I do, and am sure many are in that same boat.  So, here are a few tips to help you win the holiday battle of the bulge.

1.  If you are dieting, working at losing all that unhealthy fat that has slowed you down for years, keep your eye on the prize...a happier, healthy you.  Staying focused on what is truly important is a great way to face temptation and win.

2.  Avoid over inbibing...alcohol is dead calories, they have nothing in them, and our bodies burn those calories first, leaving everything else there to be stored as fat.  Furthermore, alcohol lowers our inhibitions, and you do not want to find yourself grazing at the buffet table after two or three drinks do you?

3.  Host your own party!  It is a lot easier to find healthy nutritious food at a party you plan and host!

4.  Stay active!  Get up 15 minutes early and go for a walk, and do another walk just before dinner.  The holidays are busy and hectic, and it is easy to miss out on our workouts, so this small walks can help a lot in winning the battle of the bulge.

5.  "Just say NO!"  It is your body, and you can just politely say no when the plate of cookies is passed around.  It is a lot easier to say no than it will be to lose 8-10 pounds in the New Year if you over indulge in the Holiday FEASTING!

Eating Healthy and Organic...Putting It In Perspective

I live in a small somewhat rural community in New York...jobs are hard to come by, and for many families money is tight.  Much like organic food sources, Isagenix is healthy, but the cost on the surface seems prohibitive to a lot of folks.  Sign someone up for a 30 Day Cleanse Pack and that person needs right at $320 in the door...buy organic eggs at the store, and you are looking at around $3.59 a dozen verse paying less than two bucks for the not so healthy eggs.  Boneless chicken breasts pumped up with nasty stuff can be had for about $1.99 a pound, while organically raised chicken can run around $6.00 a pound.  People, parents, families want to eat healthy, want to avoid the toxins, but cost seems to be a serious barrier that needs to be overcome.

More than once since I began sharing what I consider to be the magic of Isagenix with friends and family they have been very interested in trying the products until the price issue came up.  Lets face it, eventually we will be getting our SUPER FOOD for free, but not in the front door.  It is easy to say, "Can you really put a price tag on your families health?"  That might be an easy answer, but probably not the right answer when price seems to be the issue holding many people back from eating and living healthy, finding the them they really want to be.

A friend of mine tries to be healthy, but she is raising two children, one of them a teenage boy who eats like a horse.  All healthy organic foods  are out of the question, and the budget so it becomes a balancing act...organic chicken, but Skippy Peanut Butter on sale.  $1.99 hamburger in the tube to make meatloaf with, but healthy organic vegetables.  Other people are in the same boat, or they find themselves asking, "are healthy organic foods really worth it?  Choices...some good, some bad, but choices they need to make.
A 2 tablespoon serving of peanut butter supplies 25 percent of your daily intake of fat, according to the nutrition label. Who has a sandwich with just 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on it?

Perhaps that is the question to answer first when trying to convince people to eat healthier foods, to come on board with Isagenix.  Are there choices, even better choices that can be made that would make Isagenix, organic foods the affordable choice?

It is a tough question to answer, but there are some facts that should make it clear that industrially produced and processed foods are not the safest choice for ourselves and our families.  As example, organic foods have 31 percent lower levels of pesticides, fewer food-borne pathogens and more phenols, a substance believed to help fight cancer.  We live in a toxic world, and though some might wish to deny it, our bodies have become toxic waste dumps in the name of saving a few dollars on the grocery bill so the kids can be put in braces, or there is enough money left over to make the monthly car payment.

Organic foods, the healthy natural ingredients found in Isagenix products are better for us, will make us healthier happier people.  In the long run, organic foods, the Super Food that is Isagenix (I believe) will save us money too, is a much better choice to make...a healthier person is far less likely to find themselves with those unexpected medical bills that we seem to forget about till they crop up.  Even with good health insurance, an unexpected illness (cancer as example) can cost a family thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars in unexpected costs.   A healthier person or family free (or almost free) of the environmental toxins from the food we eat, even the air we breath  is far less likely to find themselves dropping $50 here and $100 there at the local drug store or paying a visit to the family doctor...it all adds up.

The typical household (including residents of all ages) spent $3,313 on health care in 2011, compared to $2,771 in 2001, after adjusting for inflation.

What are the costs to individuals, to the family of obesity?  The CDC states that 34 percent of our American population is obese...what are the costs of this to a family's budget?  What are the costs to the emotional well being of an obese person, the costs to their family.  What if eating a super food saw a person shedding pounds, feeling better, and having more energy...would cost still be an issue?  If families could look into a crystal ball say six months or a year down the line and see the advantages of making better food and diet choices, would they find the money to make the switch?  Would they choose to eliminate certain things from their life to live the reality of being happy and healthy?

I have no studies, only my own antedotal example as proof, but believe if you factor everything in that Isagenix is actually a bargain.  My own grocery bill has been significantly less since being on Isagenix...two of my meals each day are Isalean Shakes, so I am not having to shop for breakfast or lunch most days of the month, not grabbing something on the run and tossing a ten dollar bill at the cashier.  Right now, doing the 30 Day plan sees me not buying any food four days of the month when I am doing my Cleanse days.

Since being on the product, not running through the McDonald's drive thru for a burger and the works and handing over $12, not stopping at Starbuck's for a $4 cup of coffee...not to mention that pastry or brownie I just HAD TO HAVE I am staying within my own budget.  The food I am eating is A) healthy, and B) in smaller portions...finding as I get healthier, am losing weight that I am not gorging msyelf.  In short, if I look at those savings,  at my improving health, the extra amount it is costing me each month to be on Isagenix, to be healthy and happy is well worth it.

In short, I've made choices...families make choices.  Getting your child braces is a necessity, but is taking them once or twice a week through the McDonald's drive thru a necessity...more importantly is it really GOOD FOR THEM?  Would you rather have a healthy fit child in Walmart sneakers, or a overweight sullen child in $150 Nike's?

OK, Isagenix is expensive, but put the product, put organic foods into perspective, and look at the choices you currently are making, and then ask yourself again, "Can I afford Isagenix, wholesome organic foods for myself and my family?"   Maybe, just maybe some different choices will show you that getting and being healthier is not only worth it, but affordable if you are willing to let go of a few of those things that are not really good for you and your family.

Two Months On The Wonderful Product That Is Isagenix...A Review

It was late September, and a chance meeting saw me introduced to a product and a company that are changing my life.  At the time, my weight (for years) was fluctuating between 194 and 204 pounds.  I had a large gut (Budda Belly) and pretended peoples comments about my impending pregnancy and remarks about twins did not bother me.  If I laid down on the bed I could fit into a size 38 pair of jeans if I did not mind the fabric digging into me and my belly hanging over the tops by some four to six inches.  In short, was not healthy, was not happy, and my life was in need of being shaken up and redirected in the right direction...enter that chance meeting with Andrea Hameed who, using Isagenix, had lost 130 pounds.  Her story was straight forward, sad at times, but filled with victory over adversity.

As the old saying goes, "I wanted in", was willing to take that leap of faith.  I signed up with this new company, and ordered my first product.  I would officially start my own journey with Isagenix on October 6th, and now, two months later (to the day) I am looking back at the trip so far, and anxious to continue moving forward.

Many folks are just concerned with RESULTS...they say, "just give me the facts, the nuts and bolts of it all, did you lose weight?

Isagenix works...ISAGENIX WORKS.

You have to want health, you have to want to lose weight, and you have to be ready to dedicate yourself to the task...I was then, and want to be healthy today, I want to lose weight, and I have been and am dedicated to my own journey, didicated to  Isagenix, dedicated to following the program I have chosen for my journey to where I want to go, and all of those ingredients are paying dividends beyond my wildest dreams.

Those nuts and bolts...

A)  At my official two month weigh in tomorrow I expect my weight is going to be down around 175 pounds...that amounts to somewhere around 20 pounds lost.

B)  My gut hanging over my jeans IS VANISHING, and I now comfortably am wearing BRAND NEW 36 INCH WAIST JEANS!

C)  My energy levels are up, those feelings of lethargic emptiness replaced with a desire to be up, moving, out and about, plugged into the world outside my door.

D)  Find myself taking pride in things I had been ignoring...like how I look when I do go out.  Have bought myself a few transitional pieces of clothing, gotten my hair trimmed, and find myself really looking in the mirrow and liking who I see on the other side.

A lot of people out in the world are wanting to lose weight, even need to lose weight for their health and quality of life.  If you are one of those people, let me help you find what I have found, let me show you that there is a way to be the person you want to me...there is a path you can follow that will see you lose that weight, find that energy, and gain back that self confidence...Isgenix works, and I am a example of just what can happen when you take that leap of faith that is required to start your journey to being a product of the product.

As my coach would say, "Chocolate or Vanilla?"...it really is that simple.

Start your journey today with the Isagenix 30 Day Cleanse

Testimonial...NEW CLOTHES For A New Me.

Ever have one of those days when you feel like George Peppard, chomping his cigar as he says, "I love it when a plan comes together."  As most of the people following my journey know, I have been on Isagenix for just shy of two months, am at the tail end of my second 30 Day Cleanse cycle, and the results of this diet, this lifestyle change have been phenomenal.  I am not where I am heading too, but am a changed man in so many ways, most noticable of which is my physical appearance.  All of my pants were severely stretched 38 and 40 inch waist pants that I had struggled to fit into, my Budda Belly hanging over the tops by several inches, the fabric leaving markings every night that were noticable at bed time.

In two months, those same pants were HANGING off of me, wanting to fall off if I did not cinch up my belt to the point where I looked like a country bumpkin walking around in the big city...can we say out of place?  I decided a trip to Kohl's was in order...a part of my decision having to do with in store sales at 40-60 percent off, and that was before I used a very convenient 25 percent off coupon if I spent $100...can we say incentive?

This is where the George Peppard A Team reference comes in...

As I am shopping, looking at various and assorted things...IE, some really nice boots that were originally priced at $90 marked down to $43...don't forget, 25 percent off of the $43 dollars quickly has these boots ringing up around $32...Kohl's makes one of those announcements, "Sign up for a Kohl's credit card today and recieve an additional 20 percent off your purchase!  Holy Crap BATMAN!  Me being me, and not afraid to ask those stupid questions, I went up to the cashier and said, "I have a 25 percent off coupon good today only, can I use that, get a Kohl's credit card and get ANOTHER 20 PERCENT OFF!

Imagine my shock when she said, "YES!"...are we doing the math folks...90 dollar boots, marked down to $43, take off 25 percent and then another TWENTY PERCENT...that is a HOMERUN.

Picking myself up off the floor I realized this was MY LUCKY DAY!

First, the incredible TESTIMONIAL...I bought several pairs of pants...waist 36...too big for me, but the 34's were still too tight.  OH MY GAWD...not been a 36 waist in...well, it has been a VERY LONG TIME!  I thought about buying the 34's but decided treating myself should not include pants that were TOO TIGHT...by the way, did I mention my butt is a LOT SMALLER TOO?

I could break into my rendition of "Too sexy for my shirt", but will simply say I also got four new shirts, and ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes...excess?  ME THINKS NOT.

I ended up buying almost $950 (full price) of new wardrobe for just over $250.00!

SAY IT GEORGE PEPPARD..."I love it when a plan comes together".

My Isagenix Week in Review

Come Sit For A Spell
Been a hectic week here as I dealt with post accident injuries, and got back into my full Isagenix program as I work toward meeting my November goal of weighing in by December 6th (my two month Anniversary of being on the product, being a product of the product) at or under 175 pounds.  It is going to be a nail biter, but considering the Thanksgiving Holiday and all the eating that normally is a part of that celebration, very happy as I held steady, rather than adding pounds to my frame.  Was very happy at this development, as I usually pack on a few (4-9) pounds from Thanksgiving through that Sunday...it is just TOO TEMPTING to have the leftovers in the frigerator, and pumpkin and pecan pies begging you to just HAVE ANOTHER SLICE...with a glass of milk, even better.

Had my first appointment with the physical therapist this morning...did not feel to good about it, but it is what it is.  My right arm is hurting more after the session than before it, but guess that is normal.  Have an impinged nerve in the neck (I think that is what the therapist was saying) and a problem in the shoulder.  Today only neck work was done, and have stretching exercises I have to do three times a day until my next appointment on Monday.  The good news on all of this...normally, would go into a total decline and pig out on various and assorted comfort foods...being on Isagenix, the desire to reach out for those things, to pile on the pounds is not there...still depressed about the situation, not one that likes persistant pain in my life, but dealing with it all in a very pro-active fashion.

Have spent a lot of time this week working on my marketing plan as I figure out how I want to interact with, and share the magic that is Isagenix with my friends, families and other citizens of the world.  Biggest thing this week I've worked on is working on getting known/seen by a larger audience on Twitter.  I am up over 250 QUALITY followers, and have had some very nice interactions with some of the people.  Downloaded and put Tweetdeck into operation...what a SWEET way to do your tweeting!  If you are on Twitter, seriously encourage you to give this program a test drive...you'll be sold...did I mention IT IS FREE.

Just had my morning Isa Shake, and getting anxious to take my December measurements as you can really see some body transformations going on...my butt is smaller, and the Budda Belly, though still there is MUCH SMALLER.  If you are looking to lose weight, are wanting more energy, are wanting to age gracefully I cannot encourage you enough to give Isagenix a try.

Alcohol...Did You Know?

How many of us go out for a special dinner, or have guests in and start off the festivities with a cold beer, cocktail, or a glass of wine?  With dinner, we have a bottle wine, or maybe another drink, and then after dinner cordials with our coffee and desert.  Maybe that is not such a good idea...at least for those of us who are working on losing weight, participating in the Isagenix Body Challenge.

Did you know...

Alcohol has zero nutritional value, only empty calories
Alcohol cannot be stored in the body in any form (fat, glycogen, amino acids etc).

So when a individual drinks alcohol, their body uses the alcohol as its main energy source, STORES any additional calories they consume. Break it down...what does this mean in simple English...If you drink with your meal, the calories in food will  be stored rather than burned off as energy.

This is why you might develop a beer belly – from food you are eating while your body is busy metabolising the alcohol!

With all the parties and opportunities to imbibe between now and the New Year, this is something to keep in mind when you think about having that second, or third drink.  Remember...Water is Life!
